Indie Author Tips

Updated: Apr 7, 2021

Author Bio

Let's start off with an important but often overlooked item for authors, the author bio. In a sense, your bio is also part of marketing yourself to your potential readers. Your author information should be brief but engaging. Tell them a little bit about where you are from, what got you interested in writing. Sharing a bit about your hobbies, interest, and family can make it more personal. Only share what you are comfortable sharing. Never share specifics. For example, I live in Conyers, GA. My bio would say Metro Atlanta. Once you have your author bio completed, you can use it on a variety of sites as well as in your press kit. A well-written bio can be an excellent way to connect with potential readers.
